HOW RANKING POINTS ARE CALCULATED:
-
Ranking lists are separated by region and year
-
Ranking points are calculated for each division by:
-
Medal Placement + Experience Divisions + Age Divisions + Absolute Divisions
-
-
Age is determined by the age the competitor will be by December 31, 2018.
-
For example, if you will turn 18 years old in November 2018, all your points from 2018 will be under Adult categories, even if you competed in teen divisions.
-
-
Experience division is based off of the belt rank that the competitor is at the end of 2018. If you have been promoted mid-year, let us know and we will move your points to the appropriate division.
-
For example, if you receive your purple belt in July 2018, all your points from 2018 will be under the Purple Belt category, even if you had competed in blue belt divisions in the first part of the year. You do not lose any points from transferring categories.
-
-
A maximum of 4 divisions per tournament will count towards ranking points: one Gi division, one Gi Absolute division, one No-Gi division, and one No-Gi Absolute division.
-
For example, you compete in 3 divisions at a tournament: the Blue belt Absolute, the Blue belt under 184.9-lbs class, and you also move up a weight class to compete in the Blue belt under 199.9-lbs class. The only 2 divisions that will count toward ranking points are the Blue belt Absolute and the Blue belt weight class where you received the most points.
